Blood Empire
A downloadable game for Windows
Blood Empire is a submission for the Vampire Themed Jam 2021. I am continuing to update the game, to hopefully turn it into a full game.
All sprites and backgrounds were made by myself using Aseprite and created during the Jam period.
The game was built using Unreal Engine 4.
Music by Karl Casey @ White Bat Audio
Take the role of Detective Jason Corr. He has been assigned a case to discover the murder at a local bar. But as his case develops, he will realise a blood cult of vampires called the Blood Empire are running this city. Can he stop them? Will he join them? Or will he just run away. That is up to you in this choice driven 2D adventure.
This is an early prototype. I really enjoyed making this and am looking forward to completing level 1 by Christmas and then have a 6 month plan to release a full 2-4 hour game

nice game ..think i have play old version
Hi QueenFaith thanks for playing, didn't realise there were YouTube videos of my game out there! :) Hope you enjoyed it until that bug at the end there!
Yeah looks like that is the original version released for the Game Jam deadline. I recommend trying my latest release version 0.1.2.
It implements the features I didn't have time to finish, namely combat, sound effects, pause menu, dialogue improvements and more animations. It also fixes bugs, such as the one at the end.
Hope I can entice you to try the game again!
Now that the main features are implemented in 0.1.2, the next update should be more story focused and look to complete the first level.
